Lean Cuisine Chicken Enchilada Suiza Weight Watchers Points

Lean Cuisine Chicken Enchilada Suiza Weight Watchers Points

I used to eat a ton of these microwave meals, but once I taught myself how to cook, I stopped eating them all that much.  Every now and then though, I'll feel completely lazy and not even feel the desire to make something as simple as a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, so I always keep a few of these in my freezer for those moments.  I had one of those moments recently and that led me to try out this Chicken Enchilada Suiza meal from Weight Watchers Smart Ones.  I've had up and down experiences with the Smart Ones products in prior reviews, so going into this, I knew that it could go either way.  Prior to its residence in my freezer, I picked up this meal on sale at Meijer for $2.00 and it's 9.0 ounces and 290 calories and scores a seven on the Weight Watchers Points Plus scale.

When I opened this up prior to heating it in the microwave, I was amused by how neatly partitioned everything was in the tray, despite the lack of plastic dividers/sections.  The enchiladas kept to themselves, the Spanish rice kept to itself and the Suiza sauce (a mix of sour cream and green chiles) kept to itself as well.  I realize it was frozen, but you still usually see some sort of general overlap.  There was none here.  Anyway, I popped this in the microwave and the strong scent of Mexican chile spice permeated my kitchen and it was delightful.  After I pulled this out and stirred it up a bit, the Suiza sauce was remarkably thick and creamy in texture, so that was encouraging.  The enchiladas, on the other hand, were kind of odd.  The exterior of them was almost bark like instead of a soft, pillowy tortilla shell like you'd seemingly get in a Mexican restaurant.  I know that's a result of cooking a frozen product in a microwave, but that doesn't mean that it has to be appetizing, right?

With my first bites, I tried to taste everything individually so that I could see how each component worked on its own.  I'll start with the rice, because it's the most brief:  it was typical microwaved Spanish rice with a slight kick.  Peppers, corn, etc.  Nothing too special.  Next was the Suiza sauce and I was curious about this one since it was almost cheesy in its texture.  As I took a bit, I could clearly taste the sour cream, but it was not completely overwhelming with its tang, which is good since I'm not a sour cream guy.  Also playing a key factor in the sauce were the green chiles and actually the heat they brought to the somewhat cooling sour cream was downright delicious.  I hadn't yet made it to the enchiladas, but based on the taste of the sauce alone, I was almost ready to give this one a buy it rating.  After the high that the sauce taste provided me, I was immediately brought back to earth with the enchiladas.  It's not that they were bad, but they weren't good either.  They were just there.  You could tell there was chicken in them and there were some chile spices that gave them a kick, but what made it weird was that the interior texture of these enchiladas was more like a chicken "paste" as opposed to shredded chicken mixed with vegetables and spices.  Just another instance of fun with processed food!  The tortillas were weird too in that they were crisp and brittle.  After addressing each individually, I then started mixing the sauce with everything and I'm glad I did, because the sauce made the rice and enchiladas into winners.

Buy It or Fly By It?  Had it not been for the MVP performance of the sauce, I wouldn't be able to say this, but I will give this a BUY IT rating.  Individually, two of the three components in this dish do not work.  When you add in the MVP sauce, this entree works and provides a nice little lunch time meal or a small dinner.  Like most microwave meals, it's not going to re-invent the wheel, but it is solid and worth a purchase.

BUY IT!!

in Buy It, chicken, corn, enchiladas, food, green chile, mexican, peppers, review, rice, smart ones, sour cream, suiza, weight watchers, zucchini on .

Tile Floors for Bathrooms

Bathroom floor tile is a safe and easy flooring option, no matter your style or budget.

When it comes to giving your bathroom a clean and classic look that's also extremely durable, you can't beat tile floors. There are nearly endless options to fit any design aesthetic and most budgets. Even better, given tile's universal appeal, it's a smart investment that can actually boost your home's resale value. Some of the more popular tile materials include ceramic, quarry, terra cotta, and marble, and they come in a great variety of colors, shapes, sizes, and patterns. A unique bathroom tile design can make any bathroom stand out.

Pros to Tile Flooring for Bathrooms

transitional bathroom

Most tile is stain-resistant (porous marble, however, is easily stained if spills aren't quickly wiped up). For this reason, tile is a good design choice for bathroom floors, backsplashes, walls, and shower enclosures. Sealed tile and grout are also water-resistant, making it a great choice for the bathroom. Likewise, tile is scratch resistant, perfect for homes with pets. And as long as non-toxic grout and sealants are used, tile floors are great for allergy sufferers.

Cons to Tile Flooring for Bathrooms

master bathroom white subway tile floor

Design is rarely a limiting factor with tile flooring for bathrooms, but there are downsides to the flooring. It is cold underfoot, provides a hard walking surface, and offers no sound insulation. Tile is perfect for installation over a radiant floor heating system, which is a particularly smart investment in a bathroom where it's important to keep bare feet warm. Also, glossy finishes can be slick, a concern in bathrooms where slip-and-fall accidents are common. Ask your dealer about newer products designed with anti-slip surfaces or talk to your installer about applying non-slip additives on top of your floor. If you want to keep the same floor material throughout the space, it's easy to find tile to cover the floor and serve as bathroom shower tile.

Tips for Tiling Bathroom Floors

patterned tile and rich wood accents

Tile can be tricky to install for even seasoned DIYers as the process requires a special saw for cutting pieces to fit around cabinets or corners. Tiling bathroom floors can also be difficult; it can be hard to give grout a consistent and professional look. Mosaic bathroom floor and wall tiles can be purchased mounted on mesh to make spacing easier for self-installing tile. Different types of tile have different installation requirements so, if you plan to install your floor yourself, it's important to talk to your dealer and educate yourself on the material you've chosen.

More recently, snap-together tiles have hit the market. These interlocking pieces are designed to help handy homeowners create a professional-looking floor. Not all materials are available in this construction, but there are options that consist of real bathroom ceramic tile bonded to the interlocking base. Although some cutting is still required around fixtures, the no-glue installation, pre-cut edging pieces, and variety of tile sizes reduce much of the installation hassle.

Cleaning Bathroom Floor Tiles

gray bathroom

Tile is generally easy to maintain, requiring routine sweeping and damp mopping as needed. Some types of tile, including marble, need regular sealing to protect them from stains. Grout can be a bit more difficult to keep clean and is likely to discolor over time. Although tile is very durable, it can be cracked or chipped if something heavy is dropped on it. This damage is difficult to repair and almost always requires a professional.

Paris Bathroom

Paris Bathroom

Get ready to be inspired by these Parisian bathroom decor ideas from France. Parisian bathrooms are a stunning combination of sophistication and vintage aesthetic, paired with timeless grace and long-lasting beauty. Are you planning on renovating your bathroom soon? Well, let us help you out because we are totally in love with Parisian decorating. And after seeing these design ideas, you will be too! We think it's the perfect way to design your bathroom.

Before you decide to go for the Parisian style, it is important for you to know that this style isn't for everyone. It tends to be very feminine and European in design. If you're designing for a man or for someone who likes sleek contemporary bathrooms, then this might not be the style for your project.

Parisian Bathroom Decor

If you like pieces that are visually attractive, and practicality isn't the only thing that is important to you, then keep reading! Here are a few tips and ideas to help you turn your bathroom into a warm and romantic retreat with all the elegance that decorating in the Parisian style brings. Without further delay, here are the best Parisian bathroom decor ideas!

White Marble

The most luxurious Parisian bathrooms feature some sort of marble decorations. It could be a marble wall, marble floor, or a marble bathtub, for example. In this case, marble has been installed seamlessly from the floor to the walls. It even blends in with the marble bathroom vanity double sinks. A gold framed linen closet with a mirrored door provides storage.

Clawfoot Tub

The showstopper in Parisian style bathrooms is always the clawfoot bathtub. I could easily spend all day lounging in one. You definitely don't want to forget this key piece of the bathroom. You can also create a curtained tub effect by using a coronet and attractive fabric. On the other hand, if you prefer a more modern look, then you can go for a bathtub with a classic oval shape without feet.

Mid-century Modern Vibes

Parisians adore mid-century modern style and many of the upper middle class apartments are decorated using mid-century modern furniture like this mid-mod bathroom vanity.

Flowers

Parisians love flowers in just about every room of their homes. The many flower markets and florists in Paris attest to the fact that this is one thing they buy really often. Here, a small batch of pink roses is displayed in a simple glass jar vase. It adds a feminine pop of color to this white marble bathroom with a built-in bathtub.

Vintage Gold Mirror

There is almost always a vintage gold framed mirror attached to the wall in Parisian style bathrooms! It could be over the sink, or on an empty wall. Parisian find their vintage treasures at real flea markets in Paris, but you can snag one for yourself via the many online retailers which have copied this huge trend. This bright bathroom reflects lots of sunlight thanks to its white subway tile walls.

Black and White Floor Tiles

The perfect Parisian bathroom always has a striking combination of black and white. It could be a checkered floor tile or other architectural elements of the space. Don't be tempted to decorate excessively with black, but instead focus on incorporating softer shades to balance it out like creamy whites, soft ivory, and other lighter shades paired with the dark hue.

Brass

From lighting to fixtures, you definitely want brass in your bathroom to get the Parisian look. This bathroom has brass pendant lighting hanging down over the sink which has been outfitted with an aged brass faucet.

Striped Towels

French design is known for its use of minimalist stripes. Many bathrooms in Paris have single-stripe towels for guests to use to dry their hands. Blue is the accent color of choice, but you can also find other colors like gray or red.

Towel Warming Rack

Every time I rent an apartment in Paris, there is always a towel warming rack installed on the wall. This is really considered a 'basic' in French apartments. No matter how small the apartment, there's always a towel warmer! I think Americans would do well to adopt this handy little gadget, don't you?

This Parisian bathroom has a pretty floral floor tile with a gray clawfoot bathtub resting on it. This narrow bathroom shows that you can still make a large bathtub work if you install it horizontally!

Add a Pop of Color

These ocean blue herringbone tile walls certainly make for an eye-catching bathroom wall. Don't be afraid to experiment with color, as seen here in this brass and white bathroom. Blue stands out in this space, including on the white floor tiles which have been dotted with blue paint spots. The wood bathroom vanity and brass metal fixtures and accents throughout help to warm up the space immensely!

Be sure to add bathroom accessories like beautiful glass perfume bottles, antique glass vases and some dried flowers to your space to make it really Parisian.

A few more decor ideas not shown in these photos include using sheer white linen curtains to filter the sunlight in the room and showing off those famous parquet herringbone wood floors that Parisian apartments are known for. For a country look, go with hexagon terracotta tiling. For a more feminine touch, consider adding a small antique vanity to do your makeup in the bathroom.

As you can see, Parisian bathrooms are pretty much always a good choice for your home. It might take time to gather all the Parisian bathroom accessories you need, but the final design will surely be worth it! Not all of us can move to Paris like Emily on Netflix did, but we can all decorate our bathrooms like she would!

Replacing Tub With Shower In Small Bathroom

Replacing Tub With Shower In Small Bathroom

Full 5' x 3' walk in shower with 12x24 porcelain wall tiles resembling carrara marble

Full 5' x 3' walk in shower with 12x24 porcelain wall tiles resembling carrara marble

If you were to ask me what project we get asked to complete most often, it would be converting an alcove bathtub space to a walk in shower. Alcove bathtubs have almost become a thing of the past. It's not that houses don't have them anymore. It's just that people aren't using them much these days.

Now soaker tubs and stand alone tubs….that's a different story. We're still installing those with bathroom renovations….A LOT! It's interesting though to talk to our clients after we've completed their project. They will invite us back a few months later to complete a small job for them and we'll ask how they are enjoying their new bathroom. So often we hear, "I love my bathroom but I never use my tub".

I think nowadays, we lead such busy lifestyles that we just don't have the time to soak in a tub. And…once we are retired and a bit older, getting in and out of a tub is a little harder with sore backs and knees, and arthritis. Consequently, more and more of our clients are asking us to remove their tubs and install a walk in shower.

Prefer to listen?

As with any renovation, there are pros and cons to replacing your tub with a shower.

Pros

  1. Ease of mobility . Getting in and out of the shower is generally much easier than getting in and out of a bathtub

  2. Creating a large shower : If you're taking out an alcove tub, it allows you to create a 5' wide walk in shower. This leaves lots of room within the shower. If you have difficulties later in life and need help in the shower either bathing or just getting in and out, there's lots of room for another person to help out.

  3. Room for a bench : A large walk in shower like this will allow you sufficient room to put a bench in at one end. This provides a spot for shampoo and toiletries, a place to shave or just have a seat when needed.

  4. Gorgeous focal point in a bathroom : No doubt… a big walk in shower is a focal point and expertly tiled, this can be the most beautiful part of your bathroom

  5. Modernizes the space : Getting rid of the bathtub and putting in a walk in shower definitely creates a modern and updated look to your bathroom. In addition, if the tub you're getting rid of is a deep corner tub, that really dates your bathroom.

  6. Selling feature for many buyers : Walk in showers are what many homeowners want so by installing one in your home, you may be appealing to buyers even more, especially if it's an oversized shower.

This ensuite bathroom in Whitby had a full tub which was removed and replaced with a walk in shower. Curved shower doors were installed to create even more room inside. Shower niches were included to hold shampoo and soap.

This ensuite bathroom in Whitby had a full tub which was removed and replaced with a walk in shower. Curved shower doors were installed to create even more room inside. Shower niches were included to hold shampoo and soap.

Cons

  1. Not a great option if it's the only tub: If you only have one tub in your home, it could hurt the real estate value of your home. Young families will often require a tub in their home to bathe small children so if you eliminate the only tub in the house, you may be eliminating that demographic from purchasing your home. This may not matter if you don't live in a neighbourhood that typically attracts young families. Consider consulting with a real estate agent before deciding that switching to a walk in shower isn't the right decision for you

  2. It is a bit of a financial investment : There is obviously some cost involved in completing this project so you need to be sure this is right for you.

When weighing the pros and cons of switching your tub to a walk in shower, the best advice I can give you is the following: If you're planning on staying in your home for 10+ years, then make your decision based on what suits your lifestyle most. You need to enjoy your home and your time in it so if you really want to convert your only tub into a walk in shower, then do it! Always consider re-sale value but most importantly, do what makes you happy!

To connect with us for a quotation, click this link.

Steps to Converting your Tub to a Shower

  1. Demolition: You need to remove the tile from your tub area and the associated wall board that it is attached to. The wall board might be drywall, green board, yellow board or a form of concrete board. All of that needs to go. Next, you need to remove the tub as well. If you aren't inclined to do the plumbing associated with that, you will need to call in a Licensed Plumber or hire a renovation company such as Multi Trade Building Services to complete this.

  2. Rework the plumbing: If you're happy where the drain currently is and you're building a customized floor for your shower, this step may not be necessary. If you're getting a pre-formed base, you will most likely need to relocate the drain. If you're getting a new shower controller, you will need to rework the supply lines to accommodate the new shower controller valve. Unless you have plumbing experience, it's best to consult and hire a Licensed Plumber for these tasks.

  3. Create the floor of the shower: You can purchase an acrylic or fibreglass pre-made base for the shower. A word of caution though: Make sure you get a good quality base. You can buy ones that are only $200-$300 but the adage, "you get what you pay for" rings true for shower bases. The cheaper ones tend to crack easily and you'll likely be replacing it within 5 years. There are good quality shower bases available that will cost $500-$600. Those are the ones you want to install!

The other option you have is to build your own shower base. If you're purchasing a good quality pre-made base, building it from scratch will cost about the same. You need to use 2x4s to build a curb, then pack the shower floor and slope it toward the drain. This is a job best left for the pros if you haven't had experience doing this before.

  4. Concrete board: Installing the concrete board is the next step. We like to use DensShield which is the brand name of the concrete board. It is easier to use and much more lightweight than traditional concrete board. It has a built in moisture barrier and it even absorbs less water than the leading fibre cement.

  5. Tiling : The next step is to install the tile on the walls and floor of the shower. When selecting your tile, make sure that the tile that goes on the floor of the shower is no bigger than 2x2 so that it will flow with the slope of the floor. Unsanded grout should be used on the wall tile and sanded grout should be used for the floor tile. If you're planning on using an accent tile in the shower, make sure the thickness of the tile matches your main tile.

  6. Shower Controller: Once your tiling is complete, you can install your shower controller. If you are planning on installing a shower wand on a rail, ensure you use a diamond bit in your drill when drilling through tile.

  7. Shower doors/curtain: There are several options here. You can simply put up a spring loaded shower curtain rod and hang a curtain. This is the easier and cheapest route to take. If you get a shower curtain rod that needs to be screwed into the wall, you will likely be screwing into tile so make sure you use the diamond bit to do it.

Shower doors can be purchased at big box stores such as Home Depot and Lowes. If your shower is a standard 5' opening, sliding doors can be relatively inexpensive at these stores. If you're looking for a hinged glass door, sometimes these stores will carry them but I've also seen really nice ones at Costco. Alternatively, you can call your local glazier and have them custom made out of tempered glass. This ensures a clean, frameless look. However, these can run you $1600-$2300. The end result is gorgeous though!!!

Cost: To convert a tub to a shower—$5000-$8000

Time to complete : 1-2 weeks

Built in bench in walk in shower. Custom tempered glass shower wall and door.

Built in bench in walk in shower. Custom tempered glass shower wall and door.

There are so many options when it comes to creating your walk in shower. Although we've discussed the option of tiling the walls of your shower, you could also purchase a shower unit insert, usually made of acrylic. This is often a quicker and sometimes less expensive option. However, cosmetically it's typically not as aesthetically pleasing as tiling the shower and doesn't add as much value to your home as tiling a shower would.

If you're opting for a tiled shower, a great way to save money is to select an inexpensive wall tile as the main tile (such as a 4"x16" white subway tile) and then jazz it up with a small band of accent tile. The accent tiles can run $10-$30 per square foot but you'll likely only need 5 square feet. For more ideas, read my blog post on 10 Ways to Save Money on Your Renovation

Expertly tiled shower niches using the accent tile create symmetry throughout the shower.

Expertly tiled shower niches using the accent tile create symmetry throughout the shower.

Optional extras you could also include inside of your custom, tiled shower include:

Shower niche: This is a recessed niche that is great for holding shampoo, soap, etc.

Benches: built across the one end of your shower, a small corner bench or even a purchased bench that can just be attached to your shower, some even with a hinge that allow them to be lowered out of the way when not in use.

Grout sealant: We use a product that when mixed with the grout makes it permanently sealed, water repellent and stain resistant. We highly recommend having this done.

Body Jets or Rain head shower head: These are nice options to add a little luxury to your shower.

So should you or shouldn't you convert a tub to a shower?

Overall, we see great value in this project. We've never removed a tub and put in a walk in shower and had the client regret the decision. The end result has been gorgeous and clients love having a large walk in shower that adds style and luxury to their bathroom. Most often, our clients have been opting for custom tempered glass doors but the options here are numerous. In the end, do what makes you happy and what right for where you are in life right now. Don't live in someone else's dream home….create your own right where you are!

How Much Does A Bathroom Renovation Cost

How Much Does A Bathroom Renovation Cost

9 Ways To Save On The Cost Of A Bathroom

Bathroom renovations are one of the most popular renovation projects, where a tired bathroom can be updated to create a wonderful place to unwind in.

Although top of many people's renovation list, a new bathroom will cost in the region of £3,000 and often more depending on the size and finish quality.

Whether you are transforming your bathroom to bring it up to date, or adding in a new bathroom as part of a bigger renovation, we are sharing some of our tips on how to reduce the cost of a bathroom renovation whilst still creating a beautiful space.

If you are thinking about a renovation project in the near future and need some help with where to start with your project, try our renovation advice session.

Renovation Advice Session

1. Carry out some of the work yourself

If you fancy getting involved in the renovation, ripping out your old bathroom and disposing it yourself will save on labour costs, as well as the cost of hiring a skip.

Many renovators find DIY jobs such as tiling, panelling and painting straightforward and enjoy being involved in the work. So if you fancy learning a new skill then you could help save on some of the labour costs, as well as having the satisfaction of carrying out some of the work yourself.

We love the bathroom in the home of Insta account @inthedoghouse___. Beautifully painted wall panelling has been fitted and a tired carpet was replaced with stunning tiles. The bath was previously in the home and restored.

2. Up-cycle where you can

Depending on the quality and condition of your existing bathroom, there are lots of up-cycling options which could help you save on the cost of your bathroom renovation.

If the existing tiles are good quality, then you could paint them and even stencil a striking pattern. This is a huge trend at the moment where we see some amazing bathrooms transformed by stencilling.

We also see so many amazing cast iron baths that have either been in the bathroom when the home was purchased, or bought as second hand on eBay. Baths and sinks can be restored to give them a new lease of life.

Painting a sink vanity is a great way to bring an old piece of furniture up to date and help save on the cost of the bathroom renovation.

The bathroom below from the home of @moditional_home has had a huge makeover which included repainting and stencilling the floor tiles.

3. You don't need to tile the whole bathroom

Being smart where you tile your bathroom can save you a lot on the cost of your bathroom renovation, on both the material and labour costs.

The only place that you would ideally tile is the floor and around the shower and sink area.

By only tiling parts of your bathroom, you can also create beautiful contrasts with a painted wall. Make sure you choose a paint which is resistant to mould and peeling - brands such as Dulux make moisture resistant bathroom paint, which should last longer in the bathroom.

If you have expensive tiles that you have your heart set on, consider limiting them to a small area such as around the shower where you can create a feature of them.

This beautiful bathroom from the home of @atnumberfourteen_ shows how you can combine tiles and paint to create contrast and style in the bathroom. Simple metro tiles look wonderful around the toilet and sink area, with the upper walls painted in a deep green. The beauty of paint is that it can be updated easily too.

4. Shop around for bargains

Instead of buying cheaper versions of what you like, wait until the sales are on or shop around to get what you are looking for at a cheaper price. Or you may find some quality tiles, taps and bathroom suites are cheaper when they are being discontinued.

Vintage shops or eBay are great places to find furniture that can be upcycled too. We love this vanity in the home of Insta account @lovinmyhome, which was upcycled to create a beautiful and unique home for the sink, as well as the taps which are vintage from eBay.

5. Don't change the layout

Changing the layout of your bathroom can add significantly to the cost of the bathroom renovation, as you have to move the plumbing around.

Moving the toilet can be the biggest issue, so you ideally want to keep your toilet as close to the soil pipe as possible.

If you are creating a new en-suite in an existing space, ideally you would position the toilet near the main bathroom so that it is close to the existing soil pipe.

If you are increasing the size of your bathroom as part of a larger renovation, try not to remove load bearing walls as this will add significantly to the cost. This may be a challenge to avoid, but try to look at alternative options such as keeping the original footprint of the bathroom to avoid unnecessary costs.

6. Keep the style simple

To help save on the cost of a bathroom renovation, keep to a style and look that will be more straightforward to fit which will save on labour and material costs.

Items such as wall hung toilets might look amazing, but again will be costly to buy and fit, so consider a standard toilet which will be far more cost effective.

It might be that you would love a wetroom, however a wetroom requires waterproofing under the tiles, as well as a wet flooring system to allow the water to drain effectively. A cheaper alternative is to create a wetroom effect by installing a flush shower tray. A simple shower screen will create a walk in look, whilst also being a practical choice too. Check out our Walk In Shower Ideas for more inspiration.

7. Think about what you need in the bathroom

If you are a bath person, then it's worth investing in a steel enamel bath which is great quality, easy to clean and will retain the heat for a long soak. However, if you only occasionally use the bath then buying an acrylic bath is a good alternative.

If you never use the bath, then this may be the time to remove the bath altogether which will help with the bathroom cost.

You may also consider fitting the shower above the bath which will save space and also on the cost of the bathroom renovation.

8. Consider alternative flooring options

Luxury vinyl is a great option to give the look of a natural material whilst being more practical and cost effective.

You can get some amazing vinyl finished in patterns and colour which look similar to porcelain tiles but are softer underfoot, so perfect if you have young children too.

We love this shower room in the home of @bungalow_bricks where the luxury vinyl tile is a concrete effect, giving a stunning industrial look.

9. Ask your builder to pass on trade discounts

A good builder will be happy to pass on any trade discounts that they get...this could be the bathroom door, tiles or even the bathroom furniture.

Show your builder the style that you like and ask if there is anything similar that they can source for you.

They may also have some products left over from other jobs, such as tiles which could be used to fit out a small bathroom.

So what should you invest in?

To make sure your bathroom lasts for years to come, there are some things that are worth investing at the outset.

Which trade professional you choose

Making sure you have a reputable builder or plumber to install your bathroom will ensure that the work is carried out to a high standard.

Using someone who doesn't carry out a good enough job will ultimately cost you more in the long run.

Taps and bathroom furniture

Investing in good quality and sturdy taps will last far longer than cheaper ones, although they may save money in the short run. Cheap taps and showers will not be particularly hardwearing and you may find they are more prone to leaking.

A cheap bathroom suite will also be more prone to staining, cracking and scratching, so invest in a reputable brand to ensure your suite can stand up to a busy bathroom.

Ceramic tiles are more porous and will be more prone to staining, so choose a porcelain or luxury vinyl tile which will be more hardwearing.

A good quality towel rail will also ensure the rail won't rust or peel over time.
